Superlatives are not to be trusted, and time will tell anyway. Nevertheless, it should be quoted from "Diapason Magazine" that the 17-year-old Israeli pianist Yoav Levanon is an authentic musician "who has everything to become one of the most important pianists of this century". When he's not touring the world giving concerts with and without orchestras, he's either studying with Murray Perahia and Sir András Schiff or relaxing with beatboxing. For his debut at the Zurich Tonhalle, Yoav Levanon has taken on, among other things, Rachmaninoff's «Études-tableaux», one of the most challenging works in the piano literature. One suspects that he too has a penchant for superlatives.
