In the series "Souvenir" authors from Central Eastern Europe come into conversation with each other, this time it is the author Rumena Bužarovska and the author Faruk Šehić.
In addition to their current books, they will each bring a souvenir that will take us to their literary-geographical spaces. Rumena Bužarovska became a shooting star of the Southeast European literary scene with the short story collection "Mein Mann" (Suhrkamp 2021); she advocates for an open, diverse society in Northern Macedonia. Bosnian author Faruk Šehić writes short stories and poems about war trauma and questions of identity in a sometimes hyperrealistic, sometimes very poetic way. The conversation will be led by the author and translator Alida Bremer: in her social novel "Träume und Kulissen" she tells of life in Split in the 1930s.
Language: The conversation is in English, the text passages will be read aloud in German
