Emicida

Born in São Paolo in 1985, Leandro Roque de Oliveira, aka Emicida, is one of the best-known and most successful minds in Brazilian rap. With musical stylistic influences from samba, soul and funk, Emicida speaks and raps tirelessly about Afro-Brazilian identity and the social climate in his home country. Inspired by Brazilian poetry, the idea of emotional and spiritual maturity and the idea of unity through love, Emicida creates a distinctive style of his own, which he himself calls "Neo-Samba".
